Omschrijving

Air pollution is the greatest environmental threat to health and a leading cause of chronic diseases, including stroke, cancer, and diabetes. It disproportionately affects sensitive and vulnerable people. Polluted air also harms the environment causing acidification, eutrophication and damage to forests, ecosystems, and crops. Across the European Union, air quality has improved over the past decades. But more still needs to be done to ensure clean air for all.
The European Commission is organizing, in close collaboration with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management of the Netherlands, the fourth EU Clean Air Forum at the historical event location “SS Rotterdam” in the city of Rotterdam on 23 and 24 November 2023.

The Forum will bring together decision-makers, stakeholders and experts in a one-and-a-half-day conference to reflect on the development and  implementation of effective European, national and local air policies, projects and programmes. Attention will be paid also to the ongoing revision of EU rules on ambient air quality. In addition to the official programme the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water management will offer participants an excursion through the port of Rotterdam. During the afternoon of Wednesday 22 November, a fully electric powered tour boat will take the participants along places and topics related to the Clean Air Forum.
